wtvm054702The Wellcome Trust Science Writing Prize 2013 has just been launched. The Trust is looking for short articles that address any area of science and would be suitable for publication in the ‘Guardian’ or the ‘Observer’ in print and online. Writers must demonstrate that they have thought about and understood their audience and can bring a scientific idea to life.

The deadline for entries is 28 April 2013. The judges are looking for originality, bright ideas and a distinctive writing style. 800-word articles should show a passion for science and encourage the general public to consider, question and debate the key issues in science and society.

Please note that ‘medical humanities, medical history and ethics’ are list as areas of science in the prize guidelines. For more details and to submit an entry, visit the Wellcome Trust Science Writing Prize Web Site.
