The Durham Institute of Advanced Study Fellowship scheme  is now open for those wishing to come to the IAS during the academic year 2012-13.  The scheme is open to intellectuals and public figures of world class standing drawn from the full spectrum of science, social science and arts and humanities disciplines. Fellowships are available to scholars and non-academics (e.g. intellectuals, artists, writers, journalists, policy makers, and politicians) throughout the UK and abroad.

The theme for 2012/13, for which applications are now invited, is “Time“, interpreted in its broadest sense to be of potential interest to those working in a wide range of disciplines. The Centre for Medical Humanities is leading the “Experiencing Time” sub-theme and will also contribute to “Narrating Time.”

Fellows will be able to engage in all sub-themes or to propose others that are related to the theme of Time. The closing date for applications is 12 June 2011.
