Clare Matterson, Director, Medical Humanities & Engagement, has just announced Dr Dan O’Connor‘s appointment to the position of Head of Medical Humanities at the Wellcome Trust:

“Dan is currently a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. He has a PhD in the history of medicine from the University of Warwick and he achieved a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bioethics and the History of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently a faculty member of the Institute where he has responsibility for public engagement, alongside his teaching and academic work. He has also worked in the commercial sector for a social and digital media company translating academic research on social media into strategic action plans that developed customer engagement for a variety of clients.

Dan has huge enthusiasm for the development of medical humanities and is looking forward to joining the Trust in early September.”
