Since 2010 the Centre for Medical Humanities Blog has provided a forum for the dissemination, discussion and development of research and practice in the medical humanities. The blog now has over 3000 followers and features guest contributions from many established as well as emerging scholars in the field. We are delighted to advise that it has been nominated in the ‘health’ category of the UK Blog Awards and would very much appreciate your support in this public competition. Following extensive consultation, the CMH blog has been redesigned and its functionality enhanced. Please note the following new features:

1) Visitors to the old site will now be automatically redirected to the new URL https://www.centreformedicalhumanities.org and all email subscriptions have been transferred.

2) Details of upcoming events, conferences, exhibitions, calls for papers, studentships, job opportunities and other announcements can now be directly submitted to the blog using our new form. If you’d like anything advertised on our pages, please use this form before emailing us.

3) Our tireless Reviews Editor, Ben Kasstan, has commissioned some tremendous reviews in recent months. Please contact Ben if there is a new publication, performance, conference or exhibition that you would like to review for us.

4) Guest posts on any aspect of the medical humanities are always very welcome! Do take a look at Brandy Schillace’s fantastic post on museums and the medical humanities. We are very keen to expand ideas posts on the blog in order to bring new audiences to some of the inspiring work going on in this ever-expanding field. Please contact the editors if you would like to discuss a guest post.

5) The site now also contains information about two new networks: The Northern Network for Medical Humanities Research and the Centre for Medical Humanities Postgraduate and Early Career Network. It would be terrific if you could advise colleagues of these as appropriate.

6) Finally, if you have any feedback, suggestions or further recommendations please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We would love to hear from you.

With thanks and best wishes for the year ahead
Angela Woods, Will Viney, Felicity Callard and Ben Kasstan
